The Farm Comes To Visit

17th April 2019

Residents at Movilla House Nursing Home, Newtownards, recently received a visit from some farm animals in the comfort of their own home.

Movilla House Nursing Home arranged for residents to receive a visit from a lamb and his furry friends... chicks, rabbits and guinea pigs. During the visit, residents had the opportunity to stroke and pet the animals.

Resident, Frances Moore grew up on a farm and spent her entire childhood helping her parents take care of the animals. Frances went on to marry a farmer and once again her life revolved around looking after and caring for their animals.

She is now very happy feeding this little lamb as it has invoked lots of happy memories for her.

Movilla’s Activities Coordinator Georgie Bell said: “Residents loved interacting with the animals and it really was a case of meeting all creatures great and small. There were smiles all round.”
