We are currently recruiting for:
Housekeeping Supervisor
Closing date Saturday 18th June 2022
To undertake the housekeeping duties that are required within Movilla House. These are separated into different areas – Maintaining the general cleanliness of the home, maintaining the domestic requirements within the kitchen, dispensing of teas and waters to the residents, operating tea trollies as instructed by the Home Manager or Catering Manager, maintaining the laundry requirements of the home. The role holder will balance being hands on in these areas and supervising the team. This should be conducted in a professional and friendly manner to meet the needs of the residents and the business.
Main Duties:
- Responsible for ensuring the standards of cleanliness, hygiene and tidiness in residents rooms and public areas of the home.
- The role holder will manage a team of Domestic Assistants covering the areas as listed above
- Prioritise and delegate workload among the team through daily briefings and rotas
- Manage weekly rotas to ensure all areas of the home housekeeping team are covered and adequately resourced
- Responsible for ordering and storing housekeeping supplies as required
- Undertake the domestic duties that are required within the Movilla House Housekeeping team.
- Complete daily checks and liaise with Home Manager.
- Ensuring that all liquids, cleaning materials and solvents are locked away at all times.
- Observing the correct use and care of equipment.
- Reporting breakdowns or defects in machinery or materials to the Maintenance Dept.
- Observing good hygiene practices.
- Reporting any accident / incident which may occur.
- Promoting good safety practices always, thus ensuring the safety of residents, colleagues and members of the public.
- Knowing, understanding and promoting the Home’s policies and procedures in relation to:
- Health and Safety
- Accident Prevention
- Cleanliness of the Home
- Laundry
- Fire Prevention and Fire Procedure
- Conducting the induction and training of your team in order to maintain the highest level of service to all residents.
- Confidentiality. You must never discuss anything about a residents’ welfare or other personal details in front of other residents or outside the Home.
- Assisting in other areas as required by Management.
Criteria required:
- Previous experience in a Housekeeping Supervisory role.
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
- Weekend working required and ability to work on own initiative
- Confident decision maker under pressure
- Ability to multi-task
- People management skills are essential
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Access NI Enhanced disclosed check will be required
Domestic Assistant
The Domestic Assistant is responsible for the cleanliness of the Home and for the safe custody of all equipment, cleaning materials, liquids and solvents.
You will be required to:
- Ensuring that all liquids, cleaning materials and solvents are locked away at all times.
- Undertaking general cleaning of all areas, i.e. bedrooms, toilets, bathrooms, corridors, lounges, dining room & offices.
- Cleaning in a thorough way, areas such as windows, ledges, tops of wardrobes etc.
- Working in Laundry department when required, this includes collecting residents laundry, sorting, washing and ironing. Returning clothing to residents.
- Assisting with Kitchen duties when required.
- Observing the correct use and care of equipment
- Reporting breakdowns or defects in machinery or materials to the Maintenance Dept
- Observing good hygiene practices.
- Reporting any accident / incident which may occur
- Observing good safety practices always, thus ensuring the safety of residents, staff and members of the public
- Knowing and understanding the Home’s policies and procedures in relation to:
- Health and Safety
- Accident Prevention
- Cleanliness of the Home
- Laundry
- Fire Prevention and Fire Procedure
- Conforming with the Home’s dress code at all times.
- Assisting in other areas as required by Management.
- Confidentiality. Domestic staff must never discuss anything about a residents’ welfare or other personal details in front of other residents or outside the Home.
- Participating in staff induction and training in order to maintain the highest level of service to all residents.
Full-Time or Part-Time Night Nurse

You will be required to:
- Responsible for providing a high standard of nursing care to all residents
- The named nurse for selected residents
- Administer, order, receive and store medication in line with policies and procedures
- Required to maintain a high level of documentation and record keeping, ensuring that all aspects of the residents care plans and risk assessments are relevant and updated as required
- Delegate duties accordingly and set a good example for the care assistants working with you
- Have excellent communication skills to liaise with all staff in Movilla House, the MDT, external stakeholders, residents and relatives
- You will work closely with the Sisters and Home Manager to ensure the residents have all their needs met
- Maintain and recognise gaps in your training and experience and fill this gap as necessary
- Actively participate in ongoing projects within Movilla House, clinical supervision, appraisals, and all aspects of clinical governance
- Be professional and be fully aware of the NMC Code of Conduct
- Have an awareness of the standards required from RQIA.

Criteria required:
- Be over 18 due to required training
- You must be currently registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) – adult, learning disability or mental health
- Have at least 6 months relevant adult nursing experience
- Be competent to take charge of a team of care assistants.
Knowledge of current care related procedures and excellent communication skills (both written and oral) are essential
- Recent completion of, or willingness to undertake/update mandatory training (evidence of course content must be shown)
- Details of 2 suitable references from your most recent employer(s)

Healthcare Assistants – Flexible hours (Full Time & Part Time) Days, Nights and Weekends

Essential Criteria

Desired Criteria
- 6 months experience in a similar role in a formal/informal setting (paid or voluntary)
- NVQ level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care
