Activities

Leisure

We strive to encourage and motivate our residents by providing person-centred care. We put person-centred care into real practice by getting to know residents and their interests. Georgie, our activities coordinator, ensures there is something to enjoy every day.

Where possible we want you to continue with activities you love. As ‘one size does not fit all’ our activities are personalised and meaningful to meet individual needs which makes our residents feel valued and have a sense of identity.

We provide a vast range of hobbies and interests, all the ones that you would expect and more including ‘Precious Memories’ which can either take place in a group or individual setting. For some residents taking the time to help them write a letter to a loved one, that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to write, can be much more fulfilling than flower arranging or film night.

You could say we love any excuse for a celebration! As well as all the main events in the calendar such as Christmas, Easter and Harvest we celebrate everything from St Valentines and St Patrick’s Day to the Chinese New Year and Jubilees. Birthdays aren’t forgotten and residents love the regular performances by professional musicians and entertainers.

A little gentle encouragement to join in can be welcomed, but it’s entirely up to residents how they spend their time. Friends and family are always welcome to join in our programme of activities.

Hairdressing

Our professional stylist is on hand on Wednesdays for cuts, colours, perms and sets, in our fully fitted hair salon. Residents enjoy some much deserved pampering and a chat with our stylist who is experienced in understanding their needs. A trip to the salon is great for enhancing both our ladies and gents sense of well being.

Spiritual

We encourage residents to attend their own church when possible. Visits from spiritual leaders are always welcome and a church service is held on the first and last Sunday of each month.
